Why Rome?

Rome is a living museum, a unique environment to understand the ups and downs in the history of mankind. Over three million people do their daily business surrounded by 2,500 years of history – including legendary ruins, architecture, and art.

The capital of Italy, Rome is the country's political center and a major religious center, being the host to the Vatican – an independent state within Rome.

The IES Abroad Rome Summer Internship Program
Designed to improve your Italian language skills and to develop professional skills in the global workplace, this program provides placement opportunities in a wide variety of fields. Gain vital insight into a career field and develop an international
résumé in addition to experiencing the culture and people of Rome.

Program Details
 

  • Internship placements are available to students of all language levels, though students with more advanced Italian usually have a wider array of internship options available.
  • Previous internship placements included:
    • Art, Art History, & Humanities: Galleria Nazionale Arte Moderna
    • Business, Marketing, & Accounting: Bond PR International
    • Education: Pitigliani (Rome Jewish Community Center), Explora (Children's Museum), and Intercultura
    • International Cooperation & Development: Prosud and Ricerca e Cooperazione
    • International Relations &b Political Science: Istituto Affari Internazionali and Centro Informazioni Nazioni Unite
    • Law: International Development Law Organization
