Since its founding in 1940, Sejong University has been committed to excellence in education, research, and service. Furthermore, years of this endeavor have resulted in one of Korea’s most distinguished and prominent academic institutions. Housing some of the world’s finest thinkers, Sejong University, its faculty, and its students have become international leaders of interdisciplinary research and scholarship.

Within the walls of its undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools, Sejong University actively seeks to inspire goals and empower each individual to accomplish them, with both resourcefulness and passion. Every effort is made in fostering knowledge that challenges traditional ways of thinking and ventures forth into new avenues of ideas. The best in progress can be achieved by these kinds of experiences, out of which will emerge creative leaders who impact the world around us.

Especially in this era of rapid globalization, Sejong University has taken great strides to excel in the pursuit of global knowledge from diverse perspectives and angles. A firm grasp of the intricacies and complexities of an ever-integrating world will increasingly be the landmark of a thriving and innovative leadership in the 21st century. Hence, we consider it not only an obligation but also an honor to cultivate the finest minds of those who will become global leaders for future generations.

Sejong University, once again, remains undaunted in this commitment to excellence.

City Information:

Sejong, officially Sejong Special Autonomous City and formerly known as Yeongi County is South Korea's de facto second capital city. In early 2007, the South Korean government created a special administrative district from parts of Chungcheongnam-do and Chungcheongbuk-do provinces, near Daejeon, to relocate nine ministries and four national agencies from Seoul. The new capital opened on 2 July 2012, with 36 government agencies slated to move there by 2015.
