Program Description:
Stetson students planning to study abroad on a Stetson-approved program are welcome to apply for scholarships through this online application.  Scholarships are primarily need-based; however, merit is also taken into consideration.  Students must participate in Stetson programs (Stetson exchange or credit-bearing faculty-led programs) to qualify for a scholarship.

Deadlines:
  • October 1 (for spring semester, spring break, or summer programs). If you plan to study abroad in the summer, it is best to apply by the October 1 deadline - more summer aid is available earlier in the year, plus, if you are unsuccessful, you can try again for the February deadline.
  • February 1 (for summer and fall programs only - please note that spring semester and spring break programs are not eligible for the February 1 deadline)

Please read through the following eligibility requirements/rules carefully:
  • Scholarships are given through the student account; no cash awards are given.
  • Please note that students are eligible to receive up to one WORLD study abroad scholarship per year (either fall, spring, or summer).
  • You must receive Stetson academic credit for your study abroad program to qualify for a WORLD scholarship. Non-credit bearing programs or programs that only give transfer credit will not qualify.
  • Late applications will not be accepted. If you run into technical difficulties with the online website, you must contact WORLD prior to the application deadline. We recommend that you submit your application early to avoid any last minute issues.
  • Scholarships are designated for specific programs. Please indicate in your application the program for which you would like your scholarship applied. You may not apply your scholarship to a different program without first receiving permission from WORLD. If you change programs, the scholarship amount may be adjusted. Scholarships cannot exceed the cost of the program.
  • AI: Stetson's Honor Code prohibits "unauthorized aid" when submitting assignments and essays. ChatGPT and other large language models count as unauthorized aid. While large language models could potentially be used as a brainstorming or editing tool, WORLD does not allow you to use ChatGPT or other forms of AI to write/generate your essays for you.
